Recruitment Process
ACO recruitment is year-round since 6 Oct 2023. Apply via CSB online system only; incomplete or postal/fax/email applications are not accepted. Ensure you meet the basic qualifications.
Duties
ACOs handle general office support, personnel, finance, customer service, licensing, court support, IT, etc. They may work in any government office in Hong Kong, possibly in shifts and uniform.
Selection
Qualified candidates attend a Clerical Grades skills test. If the skills test, academic qualifications, and language proficiency are met, you will be invited to a selection interview.
Interview Preparation
Expect questions on clerical skills, IT applications, teamwork, and handling public enquiries. Demonstrate knowledge of government office practices. Show adaptability to shift work and uniform duties.
Practice Questions
- Can you describe a time you handled a difficult customer or public enquiry?
- How do you prioritize tasks when dealing with multiple deadlines?
- What IT applications are you familiar with, and how would you use them in an office setting?
- Are you willing to work in any district of Hong Kong, and in shifts or uniform?
- How do you ensure accuracy in your clerical work, such as data entry or filing?

- Prepare for the skills test by practicing typing and basic clerical tasks.
- Review your academic qualifications and language proficiency requirements (CRE equivalent).
- Schedule the BLNST if not yet passed.
