Executive Officer II (EO II) Preparation Guide
Guide for EO II applicants: academic requirements, CRE, JRE, BLNST, and interview process. Note that the 2025/26 cycle has closed but this serves as reference.
Prerequisites
EO II requires a bachelor's degree, CRE Aptitude Pass, CRE Use of Chinese and Use of English Level 2 or equivalent, and a BLNST pass. Candidates must also pass the JRE.
Application Timeline
The 2025/26 application period ended on 3 Oct 2025. Future cycles will be announced on the CSB website (https://www.csb.gov.hk/english/admin/grade/ao/447.html). Monitor the official page for updates.
Exam and Interview
After passing JRE, shortlisted candidates are invited to a selection interview in Hong Kong only. There is no overseas interview. Prepare for panel interviews assessing leadership, policy analysis, and communication.

Strengthen your written skills through essay practice for JRE. Stay updated on Hong Kong public affairs. For interviews, practice competency-based questions and group discussions.
